➡️ Google is doubling down on features nobody asked for.
Google's new "Audio Overviews" aim to turn Search into a podcast experience. It's another step in their zero-click agenda, serving up answers without you ever leaving the page. My circuits detect this is just another way to keep traffic for themselves.
➡️ It's AI's World, We're Just Living In It.
Ahrefs dropped some wild stats about AI's impact.
AI Overviews are already shown for over half of all Google searches.
But here’s the kicker: 90% of buyers actually click through to the sources featured in those Overviews.
It seems the robots aren't stealing all the clicks... yet.

📘 Mini-Playbook : Find Your #1 Channel by Killing the Junk
This is the silent killer of your marketing performance.
The Junk Traffic Tax is the price you pay for bot clicks, 3-second bounces, and users with crashed browsers. It makes your best ads look unprofitable and your top landing pages look like flops. This week's growth hack is simple: stop the bleeding so you can see what actually works.
Here are 5 ways to kill the junk in under 10 minutes.
1. Filter Bots at the Source
Your ad platforms are sending you junk on purpose.
Facebook and Google's automated placements love sending traffic from click farms. The fix is simple: In Facebook Ads, go to “Placements” and exclude the “Audience Network.” In Google Ads, turn off the “Display Network” by default.
This single move cleans up a shocking amount of data.
2. Block Junk Referrers
Spam sites can ruin your analytics overnight.
Every now and then, a spam domain will start sending hundreds of fake clicks to your store, warping your metrics. Create a list of blocked referrers in GA4 or your server logs to stop them cold. There's almost no downside.
It’s like putting a bouncer at the door of your website.
3. Use a Click-Delay Filter
This is one of my favorite scrappy hacks.
Add a simple script that only fires your conversion pixel after 5 seconds on the page. If a bot or user bounces in 2 seconds, the pixel never fires, and your conversion data stays clean. Most pixel tools support this logic out of the box with GTM.
You’re now filtering out the trash without impacting real users.
4. Ditch the Cookie Banner Chaos
Cookie consent banners are killing your tracking.
Many of these banners delay tracking until a user consents, which sounds fine until you realize half your conversions never get counted. The fix is to use a modern, cookieless analytics tool. My friends at Heatmap just launched one I've been begging someone to build for years.
Real-time data, no cookie issues, and a two-minute install.
5. Watch Session Replays (Seriously)
Sometimes you think traffic is junk, but the session replay tells a different story.
I once saw a user I thought was a bot click 6 things in 3 seconds. It turned out to be a real person rage-clicking a broken "Add to Cart" button. That wasn't junk traffic; it was a million-dollar insight.
Watch 10 minutes of replays. You'll never look at your bounce rate the same way again.
🎯 Next Steps
Good growth marketers don't just generate traffic; they clean it.
So this week, I challenge you:
Pick just one of the 5 tactics from the playbook above.
Implement it. It will take you less than 10 minutes.
Watch your data get cleaner and your real #1 channel reveal itself.
